A regulatory assessment is a project gate, not an equipment award.

The California Energy Commission scheduled a September 1 public meeting on its Staff Assessment for the proposed Corby Battery Energy Storage System. The assessment includes a draft environmental impact report and invites comments from agencies, tribes, the public and the applicant.

The review is a meaningful development milestone, but it is not a battery, PCS or EPC award. Environmental conditions, fire-safety requirements, site layout, grid studies and public comments can still change the approved configuration and procurement schedule.

Suppliers should keep offers conditional on the final permit, design basis and notice to proceed. Define usable energy, augmentation, safety systems, acoustic limits, commissioning tests and long-term service only against the approved project scope.
