Coal India’s procurement portal lists a tender for borrowing funds for a 187.5 MW / 750 MWh standalone BESS project at Choutuppal, Telangana, published on 20 August 2026. The same portal lists the related EPC development package with 15 years of comprehensive operation and maintenance.
The four-hour specification gives bidders a clear performance frame, but a compliant offer needs more than cells and containers. Design, supply, civil works, evacuation, protection, testing, permits, commissioning and long-term operations must be allocated across the EPC chain.
Bid teams should lock the definition of usable AC energy, auxiliary consumption, degradation, response time, availability and liquidated damages. Confirm the point of interconnection and every O&M handover before pricing equipment or service.
