EDF and Trinasolar's ISBU signed long-term battery-optimisation agreements covering the 40 MW / 80 MWh Ruby BESS in Scotland and the 49.9 MW / 99.8 MWh Chatterley BESS in England. EDF will manage the assets through its Powershift platform.
The commercial structure shows that storage value depends on more than cells and PCS. Dispatch authority, market access, state-of-charge reserves, communications, performance data and revenue risk should be assigned alongside the equipment scope.
Before award, define EMS ownership, control latency, availability, degradation accounting, cybersecurity and the boundary between optimiser and integrator. SolarXport can compare energy storage equipment, system requirements and a technical sourcing request.
