Eskom has opened a request for qualification for strategic partners in the first phase of Eskom Green, a portfolio of up to 6 GW of utility-scale renewable energy and storage projects in South Africa. The programme includes solar PV, battery energy storage and wind.
For suppliers, the RFQ is a qualification pipeline rather than a project award. Partner capability, technology bankability, grid studies, construction delivery, local execution and long-term operations support will shape which teams can compete for later project-specific opportunities.
