IEA PVPS updates PV life-cycle inventory benchmark

IEA PVPS has updated its public photovoltaic life-cycle inventory benchmark using 83 quality-screened factory-level assessments. The update covers TOPCon and PERC silicon supply chains, CdTe modules and balance-of-system reference cases.

For procurement teams, the benchmark is useful as a comparison baseline rather than a substitute for supplier evidence. Product-specific boundaries, factory energy mix, bill of materials, transport assumptions and verification method can materially change an environmental claim.
