Mercom reports that nearly 248 GW of renewable, storage and hydro projects with granted grid connectivity or GNA could become effective in India between August 2026 and 2031. The reported pipeline includes approximately 53.4 GW in 2026 and nearly 80 GW in 2027.
Connectivity improves the visibility of future demand, but it is not a construction award. Owners, land, financing, permits, EPC appointment, equipment specifications and the effective transmission date still determine whether a project can buy.
Sales teams should rank accounts by interconnection maturity and verify each project individually. Keep delivery forecasts tied to a named owner, a bankable schedule and a clear procurement package rather than the aggregate pipeline.
