MN8 Energy, Google and Eos announced an 86 MW Mammoth Solar project in West Virginia that combines 10 MW / 100 MWh of zinc-based long-duration storage with a 70 MW / 280 MWh lithium-ion BESS. The project is intended to provide clean power and flexibility on the PJM grid.

Using two storage technologies makes the buyer's evaluation more granular. Duration, response speed, degradation, thermal management, fire safety, controls, augmentation and operating priority must be compared at the plant level rather than by chemistry alone.

Set one performance baseline at the point of interconnection and assign EMS, protection, dispatch, warranties and service data by asset. SolarXport can compare energy storage, utility-scale equipment and a project sourcing request.
