Nextpower completed its acquisition of Prevalon Energy on July 20, adding large-scale BESS, power-stabilisation, energy-management and lifecycle-service capabilities to its solar platform. Nextpower says the acquired business has deployed more than 6 GWh of energy storage globally.

For utility buyers, the development reinforces the value of evaluating the full delivery chain rather than comparing battery containers alone. The responsible parties for controls, grid support, commissioning, warranty administration and long-term service should be explicit in the contract structure.

Before award, align the BESS scope with the plant controller, EMS, protection studies, performance tests and spare-parts plan. SolarXport can help compare energy storage equipment, utility solar equipment and the utility-scale solar solution.
