Nillumbik Shire Council says a proposal for a utility-scale battery facility in Doreen is expected to enter Victoria's ministerial planning process in late October. The concept includes a 220 kV terminal station, underground electrical infrastructure, water storage and firefighting systems.
This is an early planning signal, not an approved construction contract. Suppliers should track the permit package, bushfire and cultural-heritage constraints, community consultation, grid connection design, fire-water strategy and the eventual split between developer, EPC and equipment scopes.
Prepare a compliance-ready storage pack covering container safety, thermal events, emergency access, acoustic data, protection, transformer interfaces and local service response. SolarXport can compare energy storage, utility-scale solutions and a technical sourcing request.
