Solar-plus-storage commissioning turns interconnection assumptions into testable obligations.
Solar-plus-storage commissioning turns interconnection assumptions into testable obligations.

LUMA and AES Puerto Rico have energized the infrastructure connecting the Jobos Solar and Jobos BESS projects to the electric grid. The project combines 80 MW of solar with 110 MW of battery capacity and approximately 440 MWh, enabling testing before operations.

Energization is an important milestone, but it is not the same as commercial acceptance. The remaining proof points include protection and control tests, usable energy at the point of interconnection, dispatch response, auxiliary consumption and operating procedures for peak periods.

Make the acceptance plan measurable and assign each interface to one party. SolarXport can help compare solar-plus-storage equipment, energy storage and a project sourcing request.
