SECI has invited bids for a 50 MW / 100 MWh standalone energy storage system for short-term use, according to the tender reporting and SECI listing in the shared research pool. Online bids are due on 30 September and offline bids on 5 October 2026.
The two-hour profile is a procurement signal, but the commercial model matters as much as the battery. Eligibility, on-demand dispatch, payment security, availability, degradation and augmentation must be defined before suppliers reserve cells or PCS capacity.
Bid teams should ask for the complete RfS, dispatch notice periods, metering boundary, performance tests and remedies for unavailable energy. A short contract does not remove lifecycle, warranty or end-of-term obligations.
