Frontier Energy selected Trina Storage for Stage One of the Waroona Renewable Energy Project in Western Australia. The project combines 132 MW of solar with an 81.5 MW / 6.9-hour battery, with first generation scheduled for 2028.
The announced DC-coupled architecture makes the plant interface a central buying issue. Module and battery sizing, clipping assumptions, PCS limits, controls, augmentation, 20-year warranty coverage and performance guarantees need to be tested as one operating model.
