West Sussex County Council says construction at its Halewick Lane battery storage site remains on track, with the concrete base, internal road, ducting, cabling and battery foundations completed in its October 2026 update. Battery units are expected to arrive at the end of October.

The local project is a useful delivery signal because grid batteries depend on civil and access readiness before containers arrive. Foundations, retaining works, vehicle routes, CCTV, maintenance access and local communication all affect the commissioning sequence.

For procurement, connect the equipment schedule to civil tolerances, delivery lifting plans, cable tests, protection settings, emergency procedures and service access. SolarXport can compare BESS equipment, solar-plus-storage systems and a project request.
