Lunio Energy has energised its 5 MW / 20 MWh Strathalbyn BESS in South Australia and started trading in the National Electricity Market. Optimisation and bidding are provided by OptiGrid, with future participation in frequency-control ancillary services planned, Energy-Storage.news reported.

For BESS buyers, the project shows that commercial operation depends on a credible link between the physical asset and the operating strategy. The optimiser, market communications, bid controls and state-of-charge rules can materially affect how a system earns revenue and meets availability obligations.

Procurement scopes should distinguish the battery, PCS and EMS from the optimisation service, data ownership and market-access responsibilities. Use SolarXport's energy storage library to prepare a concise technical brief, then contact our team with the intended operating model.
